FLW Pro Michael Neal proving he is the “Real Deal."

At 24 years old, Michael Neal is one of the youngest anglers on the FLW tour but thankfully age has nothing to do with bass fishing. As many people have been referring to Michael as the “Real Deal” this year he is certainty proving it. Going into the last event of the year today, he is only 25 points away from wrapping up an angler of the year title.

Michael Neal was born and raised in Tennessee and calls lake Chickamauga his home lake. Growing up on “Chick” and learning fishing from some of his super legendary family has given Michael an almost supernatural ability to find and catch ledge fish, which for many, is an almost impossible feat. But Michael isn’t one-dimensional. You pair his ledge catching ability with his knowledge of sonar and an amazing ability to adapt to any and all conditions and now you have the makings of future hall of fame fisherman.

Fishing is Michael’s “bread and butter” but he also owns a very well known restaurant and fishing tackle store in Dayton, Tennessee. He also has a degree in Computer Science and is a coach for the local college fishing team. Michael is not only an amazing angler but also a wonderful person that relies heavily on family support and his deep-rooted values to guide him on his successful and very young fishing career.

Be sure to watch FLW live weigh in each day, starting today, to see if 5X3's Michael Neal can secure his first (of what we hope to be many) AOY titles.

I’m lucky to count Michael as a friend, I’ve watched him develop into an absolute hammer of an angler. Thanks for mentioning his character as well. He is a great person who goes out of his way to help people learn to catch fish. To me that’s “The Real Deal”!

I was a judge for this young “gun” a few years back at the Toyota Texas Bass Classic. I knew then he was destine to be a great angler. Wishing him the best in his FLW endeavors!
